South America (CONMEBOL)

CONMEBOL has only confirmed the first four rounds of fixture details for the 2026 World Cup qualification. The matches will be held in September and October 2023.
Asia (AFC)
Start Date: October 2023
The AFC qualification schedule has not yet been released.
Qualification Format
CONCACAF
32 teams will participate in the CONCACAF qualification tournament, which will run from March 2024 to November 2025.
CAF
54 teams will participate in the CAF qualification tournament, which will run from October 2023 to March 2026.
CONMEBOL
10 teams will participate in the CONMEBOL qualification tournament, which will run from September 2023 to October 2025.
AFC
46 teams will participate in the AFC qualification tournament, which will run from October 2023 to March 2026.
UEFA
55 teams will participate in the UEFA qualification tournament, which will run from March 2024 to March 2026.
OFC
11 teams will participate in the OFC qualification tournament, which will run from October 2023 to March 2026.

Dates: June 11 - June 27, 2026
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It will be the first World Cup to feature 48 teams, up from 32 in previous tournaments.
